This three owner E Type Roadster from new has been in the previous ownership for 24 years, its all numbers matching, it has been fully restored by one of the best E Type restorers in this Country to show standard, engine fully rebuilt with 9:1 compression pistons carried out by VSE, including electronic ignition, it is set up for unleaded fuel and fast road use, the engine now nicely run-inn and showing excellent oil pressure, fully overhauled original Jaguar 4 speed syncro gearbox, stainless steel big bore exhaust system, Alloy header tank and custom built high flow alloy radiator, SFS uprated coolant hoses all round fitted with s/s jubilee clips, Kenlowe electric fan, Coopercraft brakes, competition s/s wire wheels with 3 eared spinners, shod with brand new Pirelli Cinturato 205/70R15 Tyres, full polly bushing on all suspension and Gas adjustable shocks all round, all chrome work fully restored. The E-type was completely restored, ground up early 2000 and went back to Hutson’s for a bare metal respray of new bonnet, fitting of uprated engine frames and complete suspension rebuild and overhaul 2015-16. Mileage since that date around 800. The car has hardly ever been driven in the wet, (never driven in winter months) and spends her life in a airflow chamber. The car’s done no more than 8000 miles since it’s full restoration.

The car was originally a LHD US export registered 917 XIG (the original blue plate California plate comes with the car). the E Type was purchased from the second owner in Santa Barbara, California where it had lived since the early 1970s. The first owner lived in New York, and was in the US Airforce and transferred to California, so drove the E across the US when he relocated to California, so from 1971 until 1995 the car resided in California, from when it was purchased by the third owner.

It was then repatriated back to the UK when it was undertaken with the restoration, the Roadster has a very large history file with many invoices collected over the last 24 years of ownership, the original drivers handbook in the original Jaguar plastic pocket, and other Jaguar related documents are also included, it has a period correct Motorola pushbutton radio that has been converted to FM with a jack plug socket lead to plug in a iPhone allowing you to play music through the radio as well. Uprated FLY speakers fitted as dimensionally correct as original Jaguar items.

The car has its original tools, within a new tool roll. The Metalfracture jack is with the car in its original jack bag.

The car has attended many classic car rallys over the years and was, up to 2015, a regular at the Goodwood Revival and was at the first Revival in 1998, was also driven on the circuit at Silverstone for the 2011 E-Type 50th celebration and photographed with Norman Dewis, Jaguar’s famous test driver.

It carries a significant original registration number XKE 32 of which is included within the sale of this stunning E Type Roadster, needless to say the vehicle drives and handles perfectly, its in show condition and would be a super addition to any serious collection.
